Pep Guardiola claims Arsenal have 'an advantage' over Bayern Munich

Pep Guardiola believes Arsenal have the upper-hand ahead of their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich Pep Guardiola expects to face a backlash from Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday when Bayern Munich take on the Gunners in the Champions League. While the German champions have taken six points from their opening two European games this season, Arsenal are still looking to get off the mark. John Nicholson: Klopp has his unrealistic pedestal

John Nicholson worries that Jurgen Klopp is already being set up to fall short… I really like Jurgen Klopp and am really excited that he’s Liverpool manager. I enjoy his feel-good vibe, unaffected humour, charisma and energy. In comparison to his predecessor, there’s nothing forced and over-thought about him and he’s good to listen to, even in his second language. But, good grief, that first press conference was such an ugly display of English football media.

I enjoy Klopp but I don’t mistake him for a God or a prophet. Yet, when a bonafide superstar comes into English football, you could be forgiven for thinking that the Messiah was walking amongst us. The response is so overwhelmingly fawning that it surely nauseates anyone who isn’t living inside the slightly weird, sick little bubble that passes for the football hive mind. To witness the childish giggles and over-loud laughter at anything Klopp said that was vaguely amusing, was puke-inducing. The waterfall of camera shutter noise, every time he smiled was a testament to the agenda everyone had been instructed to push. It even annoyed him a little, forcing him, at one point, to make a plea to stop taking photos so he could hear questions. His plea was, of course, largely ignored, even though after 15 minutes of constant photo-taking, surely they had more than enough images of him. Reporters shout out banal questions that must be hard to answer with any degree of wit and interest. Is he a Special One? No he’s a Normal One!! A ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha… he’s brilliant, isn’t he? And he speaks German as well (swoon) It all smacked of an over-eager boy trying to like everything a girl he fancies likes, trying to laugh at everything she laughs at. In other words, it’s childish. The wider effect of this fawning can be to create an almost instant backlash against the man, even though he’s done the precise sum of nothing, apart from exist. All too often, the reaction to a football person is not to the person themselves, but to the media coverage of that person, as though that is one and the same thing. Consequently, people are already queuing up to see Liverpool get beaten in their next game, in order to prick the newcomer’s balloon, or more accurately, prick the press’s latest love child. That’s how this press attitude pollutes our football culture. That and by the use of heinous puns and abbreviations. God save us from the heinous puns and abbreviations. Does anyone like them? Is anyone buying papers to read them? Instead of shortening names in headlines, why not just use a smaller type face and fit the whole name in?

Robbie Keane tells Ireland to get over Poland defeat fast

Seamus Coleman says the Republic of Ireland will to pick themselves back up so they can qualify through the play-offs for Euro 2016, after they were beaten "But I think that we have to try to move on as quickly as possible and try to make sure that the lads going back to their clubs have it in the backs of their minds that we have big games in a month's time and we still have the chance to go to the European Championship in France. There's still something in it." Ireland came through the play-offs four years ago, beating Estonia 5-1 over two legs, and Keane said: "Having that hunger and desire, knowing that there's a massive prize at the end of it, playing at the European Championships - some players never get get the opportunity to play in these competitions. "We've been lucky enough that we have quite a few who know what it's like, the atmosphere that gets created around it for everybody. "To have a European Championship on your CV, that's an opportunity the lads certainly have to be mindful of. We all have to go on thinking we have a great chance regardless of who we get because we're a good team.""What we have to do is to forget about it as much as we all can. I know it's difficult, but we have to try," he said. "We said at the end there, we've got a play-off and if you looked at the group overall back at the start of the campaign, would you have accepted third spot at the time? People would probably have said 'yeah'. "When you're in with a chance and you think you can take second spot, then of course it's a disappointment.

They are going through a painful time and none more so than the manager. What are the principles of their game at the moment? Angry' Massimiliano Allegri wants Juventus improvement

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is not happy after more dropped points Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has demanded a quick improvement from his Italian champions after they conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 against Frosinone. Juve appeared to have the three points secure but a lapse in concentration led to a stoppage-time goal for the Serie A debutants, who had lost their first four matches of the campaign. Allegri singled out his side's fragility at the back as a particular cause for concern, and urged his team to take their time in possession in an effort to cut out the mistakes. Napoli, like Juve, have also won only once in the league this season and were held 0-0 by Carpi, another team making their top-flight debut, on Wednesday.

Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest: Emyr Huws scores again to rescue a point

Emyr Huws struck his fourth goal in three matches to rescue a point for Huddersfield in a 1-1 home draw against Sky Bet Championship rivals Nottingham Forest. Midfielder Huws crashed home a long-range equaliser via a deflection off Forest defender Jack Hobbs and the crossbar to cancel out Ryan Mendes' first-half opener for the visitors, for whom substitute Chris Burke hit the woodwork in the second period. Huws, on loan from League One side Wigan, scored in the recent win at Charlton and notched two more in last weekend's 4-1 victory over Bolton as Chris Powell's side completed a mini revival after failing to win any of their first six league matches.A point for Town looked very much in doubt for most of a game that was short on quality after they had fallen behind to Mendes' goal, his first in English football following his arrival from French side Lille earlier this month. Huddersfield threatened first through on-loan Bournemouth defender Elliott Ward, who headed Sean Scannell's corner narrowly wide in the sixth minute. The home side continued to look the more likely throughout the opening quarter but as so often happens when one side has had a lively start without delivering a goal, it is the opposition who break the deadlock. Forest did that in the 23rd minute in a rare foray forward with a three-touch move that caught the home side flat-footed. Huddersfield manager Chris Powell was delighted with his side's persistence as they scored late on to rescue a point at home to Nottingham Forest. Huddersfield manager Chris Powell was delighted with his side's persistence as they scored late on to rescue a point at home to Nottingham Forest. Defender Daniel Pinillos swung over a cross from the left and fellow full-back Eric Lichaj played the ball back towards the penalty spot with a neat cushioned header for Mendes to sweep the ball into the roof of the net. Huddersfield had made all the running before Mendes' goal but lost all their early cohesion and laboured to break down Forest's well-organised defence. Harry Bunn's thumping goalbound drive from the right side of the penalty area early in the second half cannoned off Forest centre-half Kelvin Wilson, but the visitors carried a threat on the counter. Emyr Huws of Huddersfield Town scores his team's first goal Emyr Huws of Huddersfield Town scores his team's first goal Defender Michael Mancienne headed wide from a corner for the away side, while Bunn's fine run into the area at the other end came to nothing. Powell sent on striker Nahki Wells for Mustapha Carayol in the 67th minute before defender Joel Lynch headed Bunn's corner over the crossbar. Forest responded through forward Chris O'Grady's low angled shot, easily gathered by Jed Steer, and while Town continued to probe, mainly through the efforts of Bunn, it was easy pickings for Forest central defenders Wilson and Hobbs. Emyr Huws and Kelvin Wilson give their reactions to Huddersfield's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest. Emyr Huws and Kelvin Wilson give their reactions to Huddersfield's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest. The visitors replaced Ward with Burke in the 76th minute and he hit the post after being sent clear 90 seconds later. O'Grady followed up to smash the rebound goalwards but Town defender Martin Cranie denied him with an excellent block on the line, but Town had the last laugh. Huws' late shot from outside the penalty area took a deflection off Hobbs and bounced down over the goalline to earn a hard-earned point for the home side. Sky Bet Championship. Click here to bet. Manchester United new boy Anthony Martial is among this week's top-scoring players in Sky Sports Fantasy Football. The striker is one of three forwards to net twice over the weekend after bagging a double against Southampton. However, Graziano Pelle, who also scored twice in United's 3-2 win at Southampton, misses out on a spot in the Sky Sports Fantasy Football team of the week to Bournemouth's Callum Wilson, who is £1.3m cheaper in the game. This week's line-up was within budget at £73.3m and would have seen you collect 149 points with one of the three joint top scorers as captain, although none of them are in more than four per cent of sides.

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood says Tuesday's Second City derby is 'not a normal game'

It's a good game to send our fans home happy, because they haven't had many of them this season. "We tell the players that this means an awful lot, it's not just a normal game. You can only do it by talking to them. "It's a derby game and anything can happen. We expect to win the football match, like every game, but it doesn't always work out that way." Villa were jeered by their fans at the end of Saturday's disappointing 1-0 home loss to the Baggies but Sherwood insists that four points is they least they deserve from the opening six Premier League fixtures. "We haven't had the rub of the green this season and we haven't got what we've deserved," he said. "We take it on the chin and we get on with it. We're in a difficult period results-wise now, we're going to fight to get ourselves out of it.

Manchester United: Louis van Gaal says club can challenge for title

Manchester United's victory at Southampton proves they can challenge for the Premier League title, says manager Louis van Gaal. The Dutchman's side won 3-2 at St Mary's on Sunday, with 19-year-old striker Anthony Martial scoring twice. The victory moves United up to second in the table, two points behind rivals Manchester City, who lost 2-1 at home to West Ham on Saturday. "We have made a statement that we shall compete for the title," Van Gaal said. "You cannot expect a title from a team in transition. But when we are close we shall grab it." Van Gaal also praised Martial's impact, who scored three goals with his first three shots on target since arriving at the club in a £36m transfer from Monaco. Anthony Martial Martial equalised with United's first shot on target and then took advantage of a terrible Maya Yoshida backpass to slot in a second "He is doing great - three matches in a row and three goals," Van Gaal said.

WATCH: Ipswich Town awarded controversial penalty against Birmingham City

Watch referee Keith Stroud award a penalty that not even Ipswich players appealed for, Brett Pitman scored the eventual spot kick to equalise Ipswich Town were awarded a penalty on Friday night despite none of their players appealing to the referee. Trailing 1-0 at home to Birmingham City, Ainsley Maitland-Niles' lung-busting run was brought to an end by Jonathan Spector's legal-looking challenge. Referee Kevin Stroud had different ideas, though, and pointed to the spot, with Brett Pitman making no mistake in drawing the Tractor Boys level from 12 yards.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson out for up to eight weeks with broken bone in foot

Writing on Twitter on Saturday, he said: "Very disappointed and frustrated with the injury setback but will work hard to be back as quickly as possible. "Will be supporting the team in every way I can while I'm unable to play. Thanks for all of your support." The England midfielder has missed three league games since injuring his heel in the Reds 1-0 win over Bournemouth on August 17. Liverpool have struggled in his absence, picking up just one point from nine and suffering back-to-back defeats to West Ham and Manchester United.

And, after Cazorla was shown a second yellow card, Eden Hazard secured Chelsea's first home league win of the season in the dying stages as his shot deflected past Petr Cech. The defeat caps off a disappointing week for Arsenal following their Champions League loss to Dinamo Zagreb and their frustration will only be compounded by the controversial dismissal of Gabriel. While Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger shook hands before the match, the Arsenal boss headed straight down the tunnel at the final whistle as Mourinho embraced John Terry, who had been left out of the starting line-up. Here's how Jeff Stelling and Alan McInally reacted to Gabriel being sent off and Diego Costa remaining on the pitch after the two players' altercation Here's how Jeff Stelling and Alan McInally reacted to Gabriel being sent off and Diego Costa remaining on the pitch after the two players' altercation Branislav Ivanovic captained the side in his absence while Theo Walcott started for the visitors ahead of Olivier Giroud. The game started in lively fashion as Aaron Ramsey had a shot blocked and Fabregas saw an effort saved by Cech, playing at Stamford Bridge for the first time since his summer move to Arsenal. \

Quique Sanchez Flores hails Odion Ighalo after brace at Newcastle

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores was delighted striker Odion Ighalo decided to turn his back on summer offers after seeing him shoot down Newcastle. The Nigeria international's first-half double condemned the Magpies to a 2-1 home defeat and an even longer wait for their first Premier League win of the season. But after the Hornets had picked up their second successive win, Ighalo's manager was thrilled at not only his efforts, both those of his entire team.

De Bruyne: Jose spoke to me twice at Chelsea

Manchester City’s £54m man Kevin de Bruyne claims Jose Mourinho only spoke to him twice during the time they worked together at Chelsea. The Belgian signed for Chelsea from Genk as a 20-year-old in January 2012 but failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge, playing only three Premier League games for the Blues. He was sold to Wolfsburg two years later and his form in the Bundesliga persuaded Manchester City to break their transfer record for the second time this summer. The fee raised eyebrows given his previous spell in England but there may have been underlying factors behind De Bruyne’s failure at Chelsea. “I only talked with him twice, Mourinho,” De Bruyne told several national newspapers ahead of his expected first City start against West Ham. “One was before a game against Basle, where he said I was doing better in his opinion and that I would get my chance. I think that was maybe November (2013). “Then one week before January, that’s when I said I wanted to go because even if I was training better, I was not getting any minutes. “I’m not somebody who talks a lot with the coach. I didn’t do it in Wolfsburg and I didn’t do it at my other teams. I’m not the most open player, I’m not the biggest clown. I just try to do my thing.

Not exclusive: Sir Alex repeats retirement reason

Sir Alex Ferguson has repeated his reason for retiring from Manchester United – a story the Daily Telegraph is claiming as an exclusive despite him saying exactly the same thing in May 2013. ‘United fans will be pained to hear for the first time that Sir Alex Ferguson would have stayed on as the most successful manager in English football history, but for the death of his wife Cathy’s twin sister, Bridget Robertson, which persuaded him to retire to be by her side,’ writes Paul Hayward. Ferguson is quoted now as saying: “I definitely would have carried on. I saw she [Lady Cathy Ferguson] was watching television one night, and she looked up at the ceiling. I knew she was isolated. Her and Bridget were twins, you know? When I told her this time I was going to retire she had no objection whatsoever. I knew she wanted me to do it.” But Ferguson said this in May 2013: “Things changed when Cathy’s sister died. She’s isolated a lot now and I think I owe her a lot of my own time. For 47 years she’s been the leader of the family, looked after our three sons and sacrificed for me, now she’s got lots of grandchildren, they all dote on her and I think she’s lost her best friend, so I think I owe her time.”

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter has called for more financial help to be given to non-league players after donating to a fund which will help Woking’s Scott Rendell.

Arter has never met Rendell but was inspired to make a contribution after reading about a serious injury suffered by the 28-year-old in a game at Tranmere last weekend. He is set to miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and fans have raised more than £8,000 towards medical costs with the aim of gathering a £10,000 total. Arter - also out injured at present - spent the 2009/10 season on loan at Woking and handed over his money after reading about Rendell’s plight on the club’s website. The Republic of Ireland international told The Bournemouth Echo: “Someone sent me a link to the story and it really hit home how much lower-league players give up for the game. “I don’t know him personally but it sounds like a really bad injury and he could be off work for a while and might not get paid. I thought if I could help, it would help him. “He wasn’t there when I was but Woking always looked after me, as did the fans, and it is a really good family club. It was a nice touch by the person who set up the fund.” Arter receives support for injuries through the PFA but some non-league clubs are not subject to the same regulations as in the Football League and Premier League. He added: “I am injured at the moment and know how much it is affecting me but this puts things into perspective.End of Season discount soccer shoes , please click

Garry Monk says Steve McClaren having impact at Newcastle

Swansea manager Garry Monk says Newcastle are already benefiting from Steve McClaren's early-summer appointment. Monk has never met McClaren, let alone come up against a side managed by the former England boss, but says he has prepared himself for a tough tactical examination ahead of Newcastle's visit to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. Both sides drew their opening Premier League games - Swansea holding champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Newcastle also sharing four goals against Southampton - and Monk said it is clear that McClaren is already making his mark at St James' Park having brought Georginio Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba to Tyneside.End of Season discount soccer shoes , please click

Brighton sign Israeli striker Tomer Hemed from Almeria

Brighton have completed the signing of Israel international striker Tomer Hemed on a three-year contract. The 28-year-old has joined the Seagulls from Spanish side Almeria for a fee in the region of £1m, according to Sky sources. Hemed scored eight goals in 26 La Liga appearances last season for Almeria but he unable to help them avoid relegation as a 3-2 defeat to Valencia on the final day of the season sealed their fate. The highlight of his Almeria career was a two-goal salvo against Malaga in January in a 2-1 win away from home, earning him the man-of-the-match award. He had one year left on his current deal and has also plied his trade in Israel with Maccabi Haifa and Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv. Brighton manager Chris Hughton told the club's official website: "Tomer is someone I have been aware of for a few years, and someone I watched a lot during my time at Norwich City. "It was encouraging that when I first came to Brighton, Tomer was a player who Paul Winstanley and the club's recruitment team were also aware of, and we have been working towards bringing him to the club since the start of the year. "It's been another great team effort from all key areas of the club to secure Tomer’s signature, and we are delighted to have completed the transfer and we welcome him to Brighton. “Tomer is 6ft tall, strong, and he has played much of his football in La Liga and at international level. He is very capable of scoring goals. “It's another significant signing for us. I have no doubts about Tomer adapting to Championship football and improving our attacking threat."

Spurs: Where do they need to strengthen this summer?

Wimmer and Trippier fit the club’s new policy of signing young, hungry players who are keen to develop under Mauricio Pochettino and, along with January signings Dele Alli and DeAndre Yedlin, they also highlight that Pochettino and new head of recruitment Paul Mitchell, who worked together at Southampton, are the driving force behind signings. Pochettino was largely forced to work with what he had following his appointment last summer but the club are keen to bring through more youth players and will therefore assess carefully whether new recruits will block a prospect's path. Alex Pritchard will be part of the first-team squad at White Hart Lane next season Alex Pritchard will be part of the first-team squad at White Hart Lane next season Alex Pritchard, who thrived on loan at Brentford last season, has already been told he will be a fully integrated member of the first-team squad next season, while the likes of Tom Carroll, Harry Winks, Grant Ward, Luke McGee, Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah were all included on the post-season tour for a reason. But in order to clear those paths they must offload a string of more ageing talents who have failed to prove themselves to Pochettino, and Sky sources understand the task of doing that has been handed to the marginalised technical director Franco Baldini, who spearheaded the unsuccessful £100m+ recruitment drive in 2013. Emmanuel Adebayor and Younes Kaboul are among the players who could leave this summer Emmanuel Adebayor and Younes Kaboul are among the players who could leave this summer Aaron Lennon, Emmanuel Adebayor, Younes Kaboul, Etienne Capoue and Vlad Chiriches, who were all made available for loans in January, are no longer wanted at the club while Spurs will listen to offers for Benjamin Stambouli, Roberto Soldado and Mousa Dembele.

Sol Campbell to run for London Mayor

Sol Campbell - hoping for victory in London Mayoral race Former England footballer Sol Campbell has announced his bid to run for London Mayor, accusing "pro" politicians of failing and saying his working-class background would help him. Campbell's name has long been in the running to be a Conservative candidate for the job but now he has officially confirmed his intentions. The ex-Arsenal and Spurs player will take part in a hustings event with rivals to become the Tory candidate who will challenge for the job that will be vacated by Boris Johnson in next May. I know I'm not going to be a frontrunner. "But I look at people who have been in politics for five, 10, 15 years, and muck up, you see them muck up and think 'You guys are supposed to be pro!' "People that have gone to Oxbridge, had thousands spent on their education, and I mean they are royally mucking up." He told The Sun: "I bring something new to the table. This is a whole new road for me, something I can get my teeth into, but I just felt it was something I had to do. "I come from a working-class background, it wasn't easy for me at all, but I worked hard. And now it's about giving something back." The Conservative Way Forward group confirmed Campbell would take part in its mayoral hustings next month. A Conservative Way Forward spokesman said: "We are delighted that candidates like Sol Campbell are throwing their hat in the ring, and coming to debate the future of London at our hustings on 4 July. It's decision time. The starting gun has been fired. Other candidates now need to decide: are they in or out?"

Germany forward Lukas Podolski insists he still has a lot to give for club and country, despite a disappointing year with Arsenal and Inter Milan. Back in his home city of Cologne for a friendly against the United States on Wednesday, Podolski failed to show signs of dampened spirits after a season spent predominantly on the bench. "You can take experience from everywhere you play abroad, even if it was not my best year from a sporting perspective," said the 30-year-old. "But I still have many years ahead of me and a burning desire to play football." That could still be with Arsenal. Podolski's contract with the Gunners still has a year left to run on it and, after scoring just one goal in a loan spell at Inter and failing to convince the Serie A club to make his move a permanent one, he sees no reason why he will not be staying in London next season. "There's bound to be speculation in the coming weeks, but at the moment it looks like I will be going back to London," he said. "Things can always change, but if needs be I will remain at Arsenal next season. "They are a great club and I think I can help them. I can confirm there has been no interest from Werder Bremen." Podolski is set to pick up his 124th cap for Germany against the USA this week and he continues to enjoy the respect of his national team colleagues. "In my eyes, he is often underrated," said Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger. "He's got fewer grey hairs than me and that's probably because he's had more fun in his life than I've had. "He's always in a good mood." Read more at http://talksport.com/football/arsenal-reject-still-has-lot-give-and-expects-gunners-return-next-season-150608149971#MYI9UIAY8rKGT8CJ.99

Nicolo De Marchi: Juventus fan must walk for Barcelona ticket

I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more just to be the man who walked a thousand miles to see Morata score." The Proclaimers have not re-worked their lyrics but one Juventus fan may well have nightmares when he hears their classic song as he nears the end of a colossal walk to the Champions League final. At the end of Nicolo De Marchi's 683-mile walk from Turin to Berlin - where his beloved Juventus meet Barcelona on Saturday - awaits a ticket to the prestigious final, provided by the Italian club if he completes the journey. His efforts stem from a pledge he made when tweeting the club on their 'if we get to the final' hashtag prior to the Old Lady's semi-final win over Real Madrid. "I will go on foot," wrote the 22-year-old, who has passed through Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Germany on his route. The journey was due to end on Thursday in Berlin but he uploaded a post late in the day on Instagram stating "the fatigue is so great... arrival postponed to tomorrow". Map of Europe The distance from Turin to Berlin is similar to walking from Southampton to Newcastle and back again Staff at Juventus - a club without a European Cup success since 1996 - were inundated with pledges from fans saying they would get tattoos or marry at the final if the club qualified. And when they did with a 3-2 aggregate win over Real, Nicolo received a shock when Juve issued a challenge. The club said it "threw down the gauntlet" to Nicolo, who has been allowed to use a bike for parts of the journey and a car for 12 miles due to hazardous conditions. He is closing in on his target - the chance to see Juventus lift the European Cup live, with eyes which could be forgiven for looking a little tired come matchday.

Should Manchester City keep Yaya Toure and James Milner?

After a disappointing title defence, Manchester City are expected to be active in the summer transfer window – but can they afford to let Yaya Toure and James Milner leave?
Toure has been criticised this season and linked with a move to Inter Milan, while Milner is out of contract in the summer and could switch to a Premier League rival.
With the help of WhoScored.com, we check the stats to compare how Manchester City performed with and without the pair…
Despite reported interest from former City boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan, Toure’s agent recently told Sky Sports News HQ the midfielder would be staying with City. However, although a rating of 7.40 from WhoScored - enough to rank third at the club - certainly suggests he has offered plenty to the cause this season, Toure's performances have undoubtedly dropped from a fantastic 2013/14 campaign.
He has had a direct hand in just 11 league goals this season - of which just one has been an assist - compared to a massive 29 last time around and questions have been raised as to his application.

That doesn't change the fact that Manuel Pellegrini's side began to unravel when Toure left for the African Cup of Nations in January, with City dropping points courtesy of draws rather than defeats. City may have lost just one of the 11 matches he didn't start in the league compared to six when he did, but they also saw their win ratio drop substantially - from 70.4 per cent to 45.5 per cent. Replacing Toure's influence would be easier said than done.
James Milner
Another player that may have waved goodbye to the City fans for the final time this season is Milner, whose contract at the club is set to expire. The England international is a fan favourite at the Etihad - and has been wherever he’s played – while his experience of top-flight football is vast.
If Sunday's win over Southampton was to be Milner's last for City, he signed off in fitting fashion, teeing up States-bound Frank Lampard to score in his final Premier League appearance. It was Milner’s seventh assist of the season - enough to equal the tally of David Silva - to accompany five league goals, despite the fact that just 18 of his 32 appearances came from the start.
With City losing just two of the 18 matches Milner started in 2014/15, and five of the 20 he didn't, it's obvious he still has a worth to the team. The midfielder will feel that he deserves more playing time, however, and following an increase in his WhoScored.com rating from a disappointing 2013/14 campaign of just 6.59 to 7.02, Milner has every right to feel that he should be a regular starter in the Premier League.
